With a USB flash drive, you can use it to install a new copy of the latest Windows 10, perform a clean installation or reinstall Windows 10. This is all made possible all thanks to Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool. You do not need to be a computer expert to do this.

The steps to create a Windows 10 loaded USB flash drive are very simple but if you are using the Media Creation Tool for the first time, it may seem a little challenging but no worries, we will walk you through the steps. It is as easy as 1-2-3.

Step 1: Go to Microsoft’s website for Windows 10 downloads, and click Download tool now and select Run (you need to be an administrator to run this tool). You will then select Accept if you agree to the license terms.

Step 2: Select Create installation media for another PC and then select Next. Select the language, edition, and 64-bit or 32-bit for Windows 10.

Step 3: Select USB flash drive as the media that you wish to use. Insert a blank USB flash drive (at least 5GB storage space, so we recommend 8GB capacity) – any content on the USB flash drive will be deleted so make sure that you have a duplicate/back-up copy of the files in your USB flash drive.

So that’s it. Your USB flash drive with the latest Windows 10 is complete! It is now ready to use.

Before kick-starting the installation of Windows 10, please remember to back up or save your files/work. So we will now show you how to install Windows 10 on your computer.

Step 1: Insert the USB flash drive. Then restart your computer and press any key to boot from the USB flash drive (note: If you restart your computer and your current version of Windows starts, you might have to open a boot menu or change the boot order in your computer’s BIOS or UEFI settings, so that your computer boots from the media. To open a boot menu or change the boot order, you’ll need to press a combination of keys (e.g. F2, F12, Delete, or Esc) immediately after you switch on your computer. For instructions on changing the boot order for your computer, check the user’s manual that came with your computer or go to the manufacturer’s website)

Step 2: On the Install Windows page, select your language, time and keyboard preferences. When you are done, select Next.

Step 3: Select Install Windows.

Complete!

Important notes on installing the latest Windows on your computer are:

– You have a license key to install Windows 10  and are upgrading this PC from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.
– You need to reinstall Windows 10 on a computer on which you have already successfully/previously activated Windows 10.
