K-pop icon Kwon Ji-yong, a South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter and record producer with the stage name G-Dragon, recently kicked off his comeback by releasing his new music into a USB flash drive instead of the traditional CD! G-Dragon dropped his 4th solo album “Kwon Ji Yong” on June 8, Thursday.
Unlike other albums that featured a CD release, G-Dragon engaged a different strategy on how he could bring his new songs to his pool of loyal music fans. The USB flash drive contained links with special download keys to the new album’s songs.
With the release of his new self-titled album “Kwon Ji Yong” it has slayed top spots in various music charts around the world including Billboard’s World Album Chart and Japan’s Orion Weekly Digital chart.
This unique album has garnered groundbreaking publicity being the first in the industry to adopt such practice where fans and artists alike were awed at the novel idea.
