One of the key benefits of OTG (On-The-Go) USB flash drives is Not only helping us to back-up all our important data but also making it much easier and convenient to transfer one data to another. Practising the paperless concept, indirectly reduce cutting down the trees and helps us to protect our mother nature.

The good news is that our normal operating system i.e our desktop computer or laptop can still access this OTG external storage device. On the other side, not all android mobile phones or devices come with the necessary hardware and drivers for this USB On-The-Go (OTG) capability.  In such cases, it is important to check and test your mobile phones/ tablets/ devices before purchase any OTG USB flash drives.

Step 1:

Download and Install the “OTG USB Checker” app with the link below:

OTG USB Checker Download
Open the app and tap ‘Check Device OS’. This will test whether your phone or tablet has the  USB OTG API or not.

Step 2:

OTG API is a code which is necessary for the support. If this API exists on your phone’s OS then the feature is fully supported by your phone. Tap ‘Check’ to proceed.

Check USB OTG Signal: Your device has loaded with USB OTG driver or kernel to communicate to the USB OTG Connected device?

Step 3:

Browse USB OTG Storage: Can you access (View) the USB OTG connected External Storage Folder?

Step 4:

The result indicated on the screen will be determined whether your mobile phone comes with OTG function capability.
